What truly makes our properties so special is our legendary service. Guests who return year after year often ask how we maintain such high standards. The truth is, maintaining world-class service is simple. We rely on our exceptional staff of hard-working, dedicated individuals who love what they do. We hire the best people to provide you with the best experience.
For this reason, we like to highlight team members who make your experience so great. This week, we caught up with The Chateaux Deer Valley Manager on Duty, Cameron Chasse. Cameron hails from New Hampshire. Like so many Park City residents, he headed west after high school in search of that world-famous Utah powder. He found it at Alta Ski Resort, where he served as a chairlift operator for two seasons. He described those liftie days as “living the dream.”
In the fall, he decided to pursue a degree in higher education at The University of Utah, where he studied Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management. He also picked up a minor in French, which has been a fun and useful way for him to bond with our international guests. While still pursuing his degree, he began an internship at Stein Eriksen Lodge, where he served as a Bellman. After just six months, he was promoted to Assistant Bell Captain. During this time, he gained an even greater appreciation for hospitality.
“My personality suits the hospitality business, and my love for skiing led me to seek out a job at a resort where the guests share my passion.”
Cameron was recently promoted to his current position as Manager on Duty at The Chateaux Deer Valley.
“The Chateaux was a perfect choice. Everyone is so friendly; it’s like family here. I love our location right across from Silver Lake Lodge in the heart of Deer Valley."
His journey is similar to so many of our longtime employees who work hard, earn multiple promotions, and serve our guests in a variety of capacities. “I love hearing that a guest had a wonderful stay with us. Vacations can be difficult and stressful, and it takes a team effort from our staff to make it memorable.”
When he’s not at work, Cameron loves to stay active through skiing, hockey, and camping. He’s an avid hockey player and even played on his university team.
“When it’s time to wind down, I love to read. My guilty pleasure is books about the exploration of the western United States and the fur trade. It’s fascinating to me.”
Each of our team members has a story, and we hope to share them with you through our “Behind The Chateaux” posts. Next time you see Cameron, ask him about his hockey team or share one of your favorite reads. He’s sure to greet you with a warm smile and dedicated service.
