Playful aspen leaves dance in a gentle summer breeze, as if moved by the sweet musical stylings of homegrown musicians. The annual Hops on the Hill returns for another beautiful summer season. Featuring eight consecutive weeks of local craft beer tastings, savory food pairings, and free outdoor concerts.
This local event is held every Tuesday at Stein Eriksen Lodge from July 9th through August 27th. Visiting guests flock to Park City and Deer Valley each year for destination weddings and legendary summer mountain vacations, but Hops on the Hill feels more like a tribute to locals. The tranquil ambiance is elegant yet laid back. Kids play in the grass, while old friends come together to spend carefree summer nights on the deck.
Stein Collection Corporate Chef and Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations, Zane Holmquist, carefully crafts small bites to pair with each brewery’s unique ales, lagers, stouts, and malts. You can find him on the deck chatting with attendees and serving his team’s tasty creations. For Chef Zane, Hops on the Hill is a special event series. He describes it as an opportunity to experience “the more casual side of Stein’s.”
Each week, the event features two local breweries and a live, local band. The passionate brewers take pride in sharing their craft and their delectable brews. They are happy to describe the complexities of flavor found in each distinct beer. Combined with Stein Eriksen Lodge’s food pairings, the evening offers a unique opportunity to indulge in a variety of taste sensations.
Guests seeking a more casual dining experience are encouraged to come relax on the lawn, enjoy the free concert, and order from the à la carte grill and bar. Chef Zane welcomes everyone to bring their neighbors, friends, and kids up to have a great time. There is truly something for everyone!

Summer operations began on June 14th with the lower section of the resort, from Bald Eagle to Snow Park Lodge, open to mountain biking. Due to conditions, Bald Mountain is only open for scenic chair rides at this time. Operating chairlifts include Silver Lake Express, Homestake Express, and Sterling Express. Twilight Series returns with lift operations running into Tuesday evenings from 4pm to 8pm. Trails on Bald Mountain will open as conditions allow. The Deer Valley staff is putting in their best effort to accelerated the snow melt.
The highlight of this summer season is the completed construction of the new trail, Undertow, offering an alternative route down the mountain from the top of Homestake Express to the base of the resort, Snow Park Lodge. Undertow a 3.5 mile, single-track trail, with berm turns and rollers. This is the 4th trail built over the last 4 years.
Also new this season, is the RFID ticketing system, which will be tested throughout the summer in preparation for the busier winter season. Daily tickets are $25; however, discounted tickets are being sold until all mountain biking trails are opened. Season passes are available for $425.
Another exciting inaugural activity available this season at Deer Valley Resort is the afternoon E-Bike Tours available from 2pm to 5pm daily. It’s a cool, new way to navigate the trails of the resort. The cost of the tour, including the bike, is $150 per rider and group size will range from 1 to 12 riders. Reservations are encouraged. Please note: E-Bike Riding is not permitted without a guided tour.
Deer Valley Concerts continue this summer and feature over 30 different artists and musicians between the free weekly Wednesday shows, the Utah Symphony Musical Festival, and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series.
