This year from February 6th to the 8th, some of the world’s best skiers are coming to Deer Valley for the Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International Ski World Cup. The competitors will be racing their way down the same runs used during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games at Deer Valley. In fact, this year’s competition marks 22 years that Deer Valley Resort has hosted international and world competitions including 2002 Winter Olympics, 17 World Cups, and the 2011 and 2019 World Championships.

The World Cup begins on Thursday the 6th with the Mogul Competition. Friday the 7th sees the Aerial Competition followed by the Dual Mogul Competition on Saturday the 8th. Each day the events start in the afternoon and continue into the night under the lights at Deer Valley Resort. Immediately following the awards each night, viewers will be treated to a fireworks display at the Competition Venue. For the full schedule and location of each event, visit Deer Valley’s website.

Guests staying at The Chateaux Deer Valley during the event can take advantage of Park City’s free public transit down to the Snow Park area from the Silver Lake area. Or, if you are skiing in the morning, you can simply walk across the street, ski Deer Valley for the day, then ski down to Snow Park before they close the area for the competition. Our helpful and knowledgeable Concierge staff located in the lobby can help direct you and plan your transportation needs to ensure that you can catch the event that you wish to see.

If catching the event live isn’t possible for your itinerary, the FIS World Cup will be available on the Olympic Channel, NBC Sports Network, and NBC Sports. Relax in the comfort of your room at The Chateaux, order room service from 6 to 10pm and enjoy delicious Italian cuisine from the dinner menu while watching the competitors fly and twist their way down to the podium.

However you choose to watch the FIS World Cup, be sure to gather at Cena Lounge for lively après food and drinks. With a welcoming environment, the Lounge is the ideal place to relax and enjoy a personal pizza with a pint. The full service bar and extensive menu ensure that there is something for everyone in your group to enjoy.
